There are plenty of guides for KOTOR II's influence system, but many of them focus on the best possible path to gain positive influence with certain party members. This makes it difficult to, for example, get Atton to <10 Influence to be trained in the opposite alignment, or just to look over the various triggers a character has to better understand who they are.
I was wondering if anyone ever completed a guide to all the different influence opportunities, positive and negative, for all characters, in the game post-TSLRCM?

Kriea is the first person you will encounter in the game. She doesn't join you at first, but immediately enters your mind to provide advice throughout the journey. Her most powerful attribute is her ability to wield the force. This means that she works well as a ranged character and should be equipped with a blaster rifle or pistol.
Influence
Kreia can be a difficult character to read but there is one thing that will always please her: manipulation. Be sure to speak to Kreia once you have reached level 15 and have a very strong alignment in either direction. At this point she will give you access to the addition classes that come with being evil or good. When you recieve your personalized lightsaber crystal in the Crystal Caves of Dantooine, speak with Kreia and she will center the crystal on your alignment and make it more powerful.

T3-M4
T3.jpg
If you choose to play the prologue (or have play'ed the first game) you will become famliar with T3 quickly. Droids are useful for' ranged combat and immunity to force powers. T3 also has a very high intelligence.
Influence
Keeping T3 on your side involves speaking kindly to him. This will usually entail choosing the lighter side of a conversation. If you are looking to be evil, abuse T3 at every opportunity. He can even be sold for scrap on Nar Shaddaa, although he will return later in the game. If you gain enough influence with T3 you will have the option to permanently upgrade his capabilities. This will also depend on your computer, intelligence, and repair skills. You can upgrade him a total of four times. The last time will give you the ability to heal droids through the force.

Scoundrel
Atton Rand.png
Atton appears on the mining colony of Peragus trapped behind a force shield. If you choose to play as a female he will show more interest in getting to know you. The scoundrel class grants Atton the ability to return to battle after loosing all of his health. He also has the survival skill which makes it harder to inflict damage on him as his health depletes. At first, Atton is better as a ranged fighter, but as you increase his damage and melee skills he can become a formidable soldier at close range.
Influence
Atton can be trained in the ways of a Jedi Sentinel if you play your cards right. In order to accomplish this you must go to the refugee section on Nar Shaddaa without Atton. Two Twi'leks will approach you and give you information regarding Atton's past. Return to the ship and question Atton on the subject. If you have sufficient influence with him he will confess to his shady past and ask to be trained as a Jedi.

BaoDurPortrait.jpg
This old friend served in the Mandalorian Wars with you. He has impressive skills with computers and as he gains in levels he will upgrade any droids that have joined your team. He can also give you an infinite number of shields if you have influence over him. Use his shield breaker technique to break through the annoying barriers that enemies will sometimes put up.
Influence
Bao-Dur can also be trained as a Jedi Guardian. You must have considerable influence over him and he will bring up a new line of conversation. He will voice his luck with being reunited with you and begin training.

Your character must be male for the Handmaiden to join you after leave Telos. She has the Echani strike ability and is an incredibly powerful unarmed specialist.
Influence
The Handmaiden can be trained to become a Jedi Guardian if you choose to pay her special attention throughout the game. When she appears on the Ebon Hawk you will have three opportunities to battle with her. These battles will have the same rules as the earlier Echani duels on Telos. You must defeat her and then ask Kreia about her lineage. When you find out about her mother, return to the Handmaiden and convince her to train as a Jedi. Whether or not you convince her to study the force, the Handmaiden is one of the game's most powerful characters and can be helpful in any battle.

Combat Droid
WeatheredHK-47-K2.jpg
HK-47 is an assasin droid that you may remember from the first game. His disassembled body can be found in the storage room of the Ebon Hawk. HK is very useful as a ranged fighter and can be especially deadly with a powerful blaster rifle. In order to reactivate this droid you will need to find his missing components scattered around the galaxy. As a rule, be sure to search the wreckage after a battle against other HK droids. Here is where the parts are found:
1. Search the wreckage after the HK attack inside the mines on Peragus.
2. Buy parts from Kodin on Nar Shaddaa.
3. Search the wreckage after the HK attack on T3 inside of Voga's warehouse.
4. Buy parts from 1B-8D in the western square on Onderon.
5. A fifth but unnecessary part can be found by siding with the female trader Greeda on Nar Shaddaa. Once you complete all missions on Dantooine and Onderon return to Greeda and she will offer you improved items at a lower price. One of these items is a behavior modification part that can be installed in HK.

Gaining influence with HK-47 is a relatively simple procedure. Just act as evil as possible when he is on your team and he will develop beaming admiration for the depraved quality of your personality.

Kotor 2 Influence Guide Excel
Jedi SentinelVisas High Rez.jpg
After Visas attacks you on the Ebon Hawk she will hang around the ship and meditate. This Jedi Sentinel will develop very strong force powers and is probably the best companion to have in battle besides the Handmaiden.
Influence
Developing your influence over Visas Marr often requires using light side responses. You should speak about stopping her former master and saving her from the trappings of the dark side. Once you have gained enough influence over her, ask her about the blindness of her people. A conversation thread will appear that asks her how she sees through the force and she will teach you the Force Site technique. This can be used to see through walls and gives a bonus to your force points and experience.

When you encounter the bounty hunters on Nar Shaddaa, Hanharr will join the team if your character has fallen to the dark side by a significant margin. If you are a light side character you will be joined by his rival Mira. Hanharr has the Wookiee Rage technique which adds a bonus to his damage and makes him nearly unstoppable in hand to hand combat. Wookiees can't wear implants or armor, but his boosted stats more than make up for this.
Influence
In order to gain respect from Hanharr you are going to have to take command over him. Choose whatever conversation options seem the harshest and you will accrue small amounts of influence with the creature. Some of these responses include:

Mira High Rez.jpg
If you decide to take the path towards the light side, Mira will join you on Nar Shaddaa instead of Hanharr. While Hanharr is an impressive melee fighter, Mira excels at ranged attacks. She has a special attack that is launched from her wrist rocket launcher. She can also develop an incredibly accurate shot which makes her a deadly sniper. Mira will make you an infinite supply of grenades. At first she only creates the non-lethal variety, but with a high demolition or persuade skill you can convince her to up the power of the weapons.
Influence
In order to gain influence over Mira you must remark that she seems to be more comfortable on your ship. Then you must speak to her directly after meeting the Twin Suns on Nar Shaddaa. Training Mira to become a Jedi is only semi-useful because she is best suited to ranged attacks with grenades and rifles.

Expert Droid
Gotofull.jpg
G0-T0 joins the party after the quest to board his ship on Nar Shaddaa. He is an expert droid that is skilled at stealth attacks and using the work bench. As a floating droid he can also move through mine fields without triggering the explosion. This droid can create free security tunnelers for you at any time.
Influence
During your conversations with the droid you can immediately lose influence by insulting his capabilities. Make sure to praise the droid's skills so he will become more trusting. He will also be pleased by any opinions that are in favor of a strong republic, whether these are light or dark comments. G0-T0 can offer you a bonus quest if you ask him how you can save the republic. Take the light side on the main quests on Dantooine and Onderon and speak to him afterwards and he will reward you with 4,000 credits. Once you complete the Nar Shaddaa quests and have influence over the droid, you can reveal his true base of operations.

The best way to gain influence with this warrior is to make statements that praise the act of combat and war. Also, any time you see Mandalorians, approach them with this character to reunite his tribe. A group can be found outside the enclave on Dantooine and in the flop house on Nar Shaddaa. The Disciple is found in the basement of the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine and he will only join your party if you are a female. His main function is a healer and just as T3 can upgrade items like a workbench, Disciple has the ability to perform the functions of a lab table.
Influence
Speak politely to the Disciple and you will gain influence with him. After a few conversations you can ask him to teach you the meditation skill. This will give your character a force bonus. If you praise the republic and the Disciple's mission, you will gain more influence with him and eventually he will reveal that he is a diplomat. When the conversation thread 'you look familiar to me' arises you will have the option to train him as a Jedi Consular. So having had the urge to play KoTOR 1 again recently for like the 12th time, I got the silly idea to fire up KoTOR2 for a replay. Unlike the first game, I've only played KoTOR2 twice (once light side, once dark side), and even once was disappointing enough that I never had the urge to play it again (mostly out of nerd rage spite at the endings), so when I fired it up again, I've come across an oddity that I honestly can't remember if I ran into 4 years ago when it first came out (was it 4 years ago?).
It seems that every time I gain any light/dark points, my companions (except Kreia who I believe is coded to remain neutral) all either revert back to their initial alignment when they joined me, or go bonkers in the other direction of alignment shift. Does anyone know of a fix or workaround for this?
After doing some searching, it appears it really doesn't matter as far as game progression goes (as all that really matters is influence), but it would be nice if there were a way to fix this, as one of the things that always disappointed me about KoTOR1 was how despite what I did, nobody's alignment changed even slightly throughout the entire game and one of the cool things about 2 was that my actions had a direct impact on my companions' alignment.
Not a big deal really, but I'm hoping someone remembers something here.
On a side tangent, I'm actually glad I decided to replay 2, as I had forgotten how good the game was early on before you start seeing the signs of the quick finish. And with that, feel free to indulge the nerd rage angst about the endings..again

That awkward moment..
Alrighty so, It's time we address the issue that either many folks already mentioned or have thought of. This of course would be that KOTOR 2 was by no exaggeration an unfinished game. I cannot think of a game that was more gutted than this game to reach its release date. You can easily find lists of all the cut content ranging from different planets, new plot points, VASTLY altering character arches (specifically when dealing with your romance option on who you did or did not pick) and so much more. Seriously though, if you are remotely interested it is worth checking out some of it.
However, many people can point at games that also had lofty ambitions that they did not reach but KOTOR 2 is different in this case. The majority of the cut content are actually still in the files of the game. There have been several 'Restoration mods' that have worked to restore these into the game with varying success(I do encourage you to download them if you have it on PC) Here is the dilemma: how should we deal with this? The answer is simple: whatever was on the disk AND PLAYABLE is counted. I am not going to use any cut content as evidence to back up my claim during the following proceedings. Of course it should be known that if Obsidian was allowed to actually finish the game they wanted to, we would not be having this conversation at all as KOTOR 2 would be definitively better as opposed to the underdog that it is. Anyway though, let's kick it off! Also keep it mind there will be spoilers!
Characters
The Good: KOTOR 1
Now let's be fair both games have their share of great characters. I would argue for KOTOR 2 there are only 2 really interesting characters. Yes HK-47 is very funny but he's just a killer droid not much else. Canderous is a personal favorite but I just love listening to his stories and besides, he get a whole lot better in KOTOR 2. No I would say the two best in KOTOR 1 are Juhani and Jolee. Both of them represent something very important to the evolution of not only Star Wars but games in general. Carth and Bastila aren't really worth discussing as they just aren't very interesting. Carth is always go on on about trust and how he doesn't trust you and then Bastila is constantly scolding and lecturing you about the Dark side; it's exhausting. Coupled to that, the two of them supplant you really as the main character as their needs and goals become the driving force of the game, not yours. Also worth noting that Bastila's fall to the Dark side makes NO SENSE.
Jolee though, is an extremely important character in my opinion as he is one of the first times in any Star Wars games that you come across a character who is disillusioned with the Jedi Order and the strict adherence to the 'Light Side.' It raises interesting questions as his choices then imply the fact that there is so much more to the Force than those two points of view and further accentuating that the Darkside is necessarily 'evil but a different point of view that gets twisted. The way of the Gray was a pretty novel idea, even now where most games with moral choices make you either a goody-two-shoes or a complete jerk. You're not evil like Darth Vader, you're a punk robbing people of lunch money. The idea of shades of gray are introduced by Jolee and then expanded upon the second game.
Fun fact: Jade Empire actually did a fairly good job of contextualizing their Dark side or 'Way of the Closed Fist' much more as a 'standing on your own ' ideology that gets twisted.
Juhani is much more interesting as you talk to her more and more and go beyond her whole 'falling to the darkside' backstory. How she was born in poverty and how the Jedi brought her in and she describes falling in love with the, as they became her saviors and were seen as almost god like to her because of that. Juhani get even more important if you choose to be a woman. Juhani is a lesbian and over the course of your adventure will fall in love with you. She then feels torn because she to fight not only her guilt for falling in love as the Order says you can't love and that makes her confront her previous fall the darkside over and over again. The only part that ruins this is that her love for you can never be reciprocated. Female Revan can only be with Carth.
Source code vb rumah sakit indonesia. The only thing I don't like about this clip is the person modded Juhani to look more stereotypically 'beautiful.' I don't like it one bit as the mod seems to imply that there is something wrong with how Juhani looks but I'm probably just reading into it too much.
The Good: KOTOR 2
KOTOR 2 on the other hand I would say at the very least three strong characters and at most six. Granted, they are not as 'important' in terms of the franchise as Jolee and Juhani but they bring a lot more in terms of character development which ultimately makes them more interesting to listen to and have in the party. These characters would be Atton, Mandalore, Bao Dur, Visas, Handmaiden(Brianna) and of course, Kreia ( who's going to have her own section, she's THAT good). The others are a mixed bag, Hanharr is pretty interesting, especially his relationship with Mira but neither are all that much individually; G0-T0 is lame, interesting premise space gangster attempting to control things through economics but he's boring; Disciple is boring and HK-47 is still HK-47.
I'm not going to go through each of their stories as that would take too long. We can however look at their stories as a group. Each of these characters carry backstories, goals, desires, and weakness that range from more than, 'Hey, do my sidequest.' Atton's backstory of being a soldier for Revan and Malak and then turning into a torturer of prisoners, especially Jedi. His moment of the Force awakening in him as he killed the Jedi who did opened him to it and how he at first wanted to kill her out of hatred but in the end did it because he loved her. Powerful stuff and I'm really just skimming ONE conversation with Atton. Visas and her relationship with Darth Nihilus; being the last of kind, indoctrinated into the Dark side and trying to kill you and her relationship that develops with you. I mean, it makes a powerful statements on abusive relationships, the Force, the power of redemption, whatever you want.
Okay , okay one more, Bao dur. The strong silent type of the team and the only one to not call you 'Exile.' He's also the only one who shares with you the sin of Malachor V. It's clear that his respect for you is absolute and how his life has never been the same after that battle and how attempts to atone for his sins by helping the Telos Restoration project, essentially trying to do the opposite of what he did at Malachor V. 'Your command echoes still General, and I obey as I did at Malachor.' With Bao dur it as much if not more of what he doesn't say that speaks to the true complexities of his character but every now and then he opens up and man.. I tell ya.
We can do this with everything single of those characters that I just named for KOTOR 2 (and I easily could). As I said, while Jolee and Juhani are very interesting and important characters, they're kinda it in terms of interesting in KOTOR 1. Everyone else get sort of wrapped up after their sidequest with the exception of those two. Carth and Bastila aren't really that interesting as they don't bring much to the table and actively get in the way of your story. KOTOR 2 is different in that while its characters aren't 'game changers' in terms of Jolee and Juhani but the characters have so many layers to their personalities that makes you want to learn more about them and as mentioned before the actually rewards you for it! Between bonuses to skills, bonuses to defense, resistances and perhaps the most important, training them to become Jedi to strengthen your team!
Whew that was the good done and over with. This will probably be the longest section as now we just need the bad and Kreia. Hopefully I can tie up those two in one post but Kreia might need her own. Oh well. Sorry I had to cram a lot into a tiny amount of space, there are just so many characters between the two games. At least in next part we really have only four to really talk about. Alrighty see you folks in..
